So, the Tragically Hip show was cool. The opener was the Sadies. They were kinda bizarre, some of their stuff was weird, some was okay. Every song made me think of something different, although I can't remember what any of it was now. Suffice to say it was stuff that you normally wouldn't identify all with a single entity.
Our seats were on the floor which was kinda cool...except I couldn't see half the time, the security was retarded and during the encore the woman in front of me kept jumping on her chair. Unfortunately, the Hip did not play either Fireworks or Grace, Too, so I was slightly disappointed. However, they did play 50 Mission Cap, which was my favourite of the night.
Here's the setlist:
1. The Lonely End of the Rink --pretty good, hadn't heard it much
2. New Orleans Is Sinking --awesome, of course
3. Summer's Killing Us
4. It's a Good Life if You Don't Weaken
5. The Drop-Off
6. Boots Or Hearts --fabulous, I love this song
7. In View --good, new single
8. Poets --super awesome cool
9. Long Time Running --if you know me, you know I don't love slow songs, but I actually really enjoyed this one
10. World Container
11. Springtime in Vienna
12. At the Hundredth Meridian --kickass
13. Ahead By a Century --mmm droooool
14. The Kids Don't Get It
15. Fully Completely
16. Wheat Kings --another fabulous slow hit
17. Family Band
18. Fifty-Mission Cap --I already said this was awesome and I stand by my statement. I love this song. Probably one of my Hip top 3.
19. Fire In the Hole
Encore:
1. On a Night Like This
2. Yer Not the Ocean
3. Blow At High Dough --Of course they ended with this, it's what they ended with last time I saw them too. And of course it was cool.
So, yeah...what else is new? Looking for a new job, but don't know what said job should be. Have been doing wedding planning. Been to some of Evan's hockey games. I think I need a wedding planner. Hah. Anyways. That's all for now. Maybe when I'm bored again later I'll do more...
