takin' care of business
Where to begin?
For starters, the Blazers beat the Kootenay Ice 3-2 tonight. Oi!!! What a game. I was on the edge of my seat holding onto the railing in front of me for dear life. I haven't been able to get this big dumb smile off my face. Manny came to the game with Josh and I. We went to Rota's before the game. They had a really cool player intro tonight also.
Kootenay scored first, then the Blazers tied it at 1, then went ahead 2-1. Kootenay tied it at 2. Both of their goals came on the most horrid penalties the referee called. It was ridiculous. The crowd was yelling "We want a ref" for a good three minutes after the second one. Other chants included "Princess Nigel", "can't touch Nigel", and "let's go blazers".
Late in the third, Nixon of the Blazers went in on a semi-breakaway and got hooked. The referee immediately called a penalty shot. He didn't score on it. The Ice came down for a chance and were turned back. The Blazers came back down with just over a minute left and Hayman scored to go ahead 3-2. The place went wild. The three of us were jumping up and down and screaming and stuff. Everyone was. The Blazers hung on for the win, in spite of Kootenay's efforts, including pulling Jeff "sucks" Glass for the extra man. Devan Dubnyk played a solid game in net for the Blazers also.
It was stellar.
