So this one's for Josh. Because I loooove him. And I just got back from watching his lacrosse game (against Rutland--the Royals were off this week). We were ten minutes late and he had already hurt his ankle when we got there, but he kept playing. Which was cool. He almost scored right at the end too, which was also cool. I missed the first seven goals because of being late. And hey, the elusive lacrosse shutout wasn't so elusive this evening. That's right, I saw a shutout in lacrosse. The Shamrocks' Chad Pieper was the winning goaltender in a 15-0 game. Pretty cool.
And then there was the waiting.
Waiting outside the arena in a muddy parking lot during the intermission of a lacrosse game. Listening to the Flames vs Lightning game 6 on 630 AM out of Kelowna. Waiting for someone to score in overtime to win the game. Waiting to find out--a Stanley Cup winner tonight, or a game 7? And finally, John Shorthouse: "SCORE! SCORE! SCORE! Martin Saint-Louis scores less than a minute into the second overtime!" And so, there will be a game 7. The Lightning won. The Shamrocks won. The Stanley Cup leaves the red city.
And we wait for game 7.
